Course Overview
Internet marketing has an increasingly important role in the success of tourism products and businesses. Tourism marketing students need to understand how to develop and implement online marketing strategies and tactics in this constantly evolving digital world. The course covers tourism- and internet-specific strategy development and marketing campaign planning and execution in many areas, including website design, search engine optimization, content marketing, paid search, digital advertising, social media marketing, mobile marketing, and e-mail marketing. This course will provide students with the required knowledge to build online tourism marketing campaigns to increase customer acquisition, conversion, retention and growth.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Develop effective public speaking skills by delivering oral presentations (individual and team) to audiences of diverse sizes.
- Plan and implement owned, earned, and paid digital media strategies for tourist acquisition, conversion, retention, and growth objectives.
- Critically evaluate various tourism website designs and content and make specific recommendations to improve website design to improve customer value.
- Explain how mobile marketing impacts travel decisions and experiences.
- Describe the best practices in online marketing for leisure, business, and other tourism products and businesses.
- Discuss key privacy regulations and legislation that impacts online tourism marketing.
- Explain and define the key internet marketing metrics.
- Outline new technologies impacting online tourism marketing, including artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and virtual reality.
