Course Overview

Engage with the dynamic nature of the real estate industry with an overview of current issues facing the real estate professional. Students will be able to anticipate and adapt to the latest trends and events that will impact their professional lives. Course content will focus on current research, issues, technology tools, and dilemmas facing the professional sales representative.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Develop effective public speaking skills by delivering oral presentations (individual and team) to audiences of diverse sizes.
Describe current issues affecting real estate professionals.
Explain several current issues facing the real estate industry and real estate organizations.
Access a wide range of sources for business news and interpret current events that impact real estate professionals.
Discuss the key technologies that support sales efforts.
Evaluate and apply technologies available for time planning, organization and self-management.
Expand online business networking using LinkedIn.
Implement business profiling skills in preparation for employment interviews.
Apply a variety of communication skills during the employment interview.
Discuss the newest training and techniques offered to real estate professionals by leading real estate trainers, authors and professional speakers.
Describe the latest value-creation methods for real estate professionals.
Apply telephone communication techniques to a variety of cold-calling and selling situations.
