Course Overview
This course entails supervised experience in work situations relevant to the field of crime scene investigation in which you may later be employed. You will have an opportunity to practice skills gained in prerequisite courses within the IPCP-CSA Program in order to solidify the theoretical and practical aspects gained in a professional setting. Students receive monthly feedback about their competencies from an assigned mentor/instructor. A field work practicum will innovative and responsive to community/agency needs.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
- Utilize and apply, in an appropriate manner, the concepts, skills and theories learned in the classroom within situations relevant to the field of crime scene investigation.
- Participate, as a Crime Scene Assistant, in the actualization of the overall goals of law enforcement through policies, procedures and the deployment of resources within a forensic identification section.
- Assess their abilities and interests as a potential Crime Scene Assistant by gaining exposure to real life scenarios within a professional setting.
- Evaluate the professional experiences gained by designing a comprehensive student portfolio (Journal. Case study and Paper) in order to support the success of the practicum.
