Course Overview
Covers advanced topics in industrial pneumatics controls using pneumatic only solutions, such as air logic and cascade circuits, and electro-pneumatics systems. The course delivery combines practical exercises with discussions of typical industrial applications and lectures.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe safety considerations for industrial pneumatic circuits.
- Calculate forces delivered by pneumatic cylinders.
- Describe effects of first, second, and third class lever mounting on cylinder forces.
- Calculate air flow requirements for pneumatic cylinders.
- Interpret performance curves for directional control valves.
- Describe electrical switches, solenoids and relays used in pneumatic circuits.
- Analyse and troubleshoot simple pneumatic circuits.
- Develop, assemble and test industrial pneumatic control circuits.
