Course Overview
Emphasizes through lectures and clinical practice the practical aspects of CT scanning such as patient positioning, care and handling, as well as scanning protocols for the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis and extremities. Also emphasizes the practical aspects of the equipment and clinical applications of CT.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course you should have the knowledge needed to make you an effective CT Technologist.
This course can be taken by those who do not have access to a scanner, but it becomes much more meaningful if you have a scanner where you can apply the concepts taught or you can watch them being applied by others.
BCIT offers a three-month CT clinical practicum. It is strongly recommended that you do the practicum after you have taken this course and all the other required courses. You will gain the practical experience required to become an effective CT Technologist.
