Course Overview

Introduces the concepts of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programming. Students are exposed to simulators as well as demonstrations of CNC vertical milling machines.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Identify safety hazards associated with the operation of CNC machines.
Identify the advantages and disadvantages of using CNC machines.
Describe different types of CNC machines.
Explain the purpose and operation of CNC machines.
Identify the major components and tooling of CNC machines.
