Course Overview
This course covers basic electronic theory which includes electron flow, current flow, impedance, inductance, and capacitance. Rectification of A/C power, the theory and operation of charging circuits, batteries, voltage regulation and testing these systems will also be discussed. The lab exercises are designed to reinforce the theory taught in class.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate and discuss electronic safety procedures.
- Apply and test both passive and active components.
- Determine the values of reactance, voltage, and current in capacitive circuits.
- Determine the time required to charge a capacitor in an RC circuit.
- Discuss how transformers can change voltage levels, match impedance and provide electrical isolation.
- Predict diode conductivity for forward and reverse bias.
- Discuss bipolar junction transistors.
