Course Overview
Capture the story of the streets with captivating compositions! This course will teach you how to interact with your subjects and gain more confidence in building strong images. You will learn to anticipate "decisive moments" and show the right reflex by either being quick in your ability to stop the moment or patient to let the drama happen. You will utilize the camera's shutter speed creatively to shoot at nighttime and generate unusual and impactful photographs. By seeing and snapping emotional and dynamic scenes, you will become familiar with the roles of peace, tension, subjectivity, objectivity and most importantly, shadows and highlights in the streets. You will find inspiration and passion from acclaimed street photographers: Gordon Parks, Garry Winogrand, Henri Cartier Bresson, William Klein, Bruno Barbey and others.
Prerequisite(s)
- Students should know manual exposure and preferably basic editing.

- Apply the basics of Light Painting Photography and the equipment required
- Create abstract expressionistic photos by adding action to your frame
- Explore 'panning' to capture a sharp subject within a blurred background
