Course details

In this course, the learner undertakes an independent practicum project developed in conjunction with an industrial partner and conducted at the clinical site. The project should provide a solution to a problem posed by industry and related to digital health with a focus on optimizing quality-driven care and outcomes. The learner develops a Capstone Project Implementation Plan which outlines strategies drawing on a collaborative change leadership approach. The project will be developed independently by the learner with assistance by the designated faculty supervisor and industry sponsor and will build on the project plan developed in HLED 7270. The project should be of relevance to the field of digital health, and the scope should be sufficient to demonstrate the learner's ability to transfer knowledge of digital health in a clinical context. The Capstone instructor will review and approve the proposal prior to commencement of the practicum. The objectives and deliverables for a given project will be outlined in the project proposal developed by the learner in consultation with the faculty supervisor and industry sponsor. The faculty supervisor will evaluate interim deliverables to determine progress, ensure the learner is on track, and provide feedback. Deliverables will be a final report and presentation outlining the project and results. This report will be evaluated according to criteria established by the instructor and sponsor when meeting initially to approve the project proposal.
