Course Overview
What you measure is what you get: the measures you use strongly affect the behaviour of the managers and employees of an organization. This course will introduce an approach to performance measurement which includes the Balanced Scorecard and Triple Bottom Line models. A strategy-based balanced scorecard system aligned with principles of the triple bottom line offers a way to accomplish social and environmental goals while integrating them with financial and operational performance to achieve competitive advantage

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Translate strategy into a set of integrated objectives that address the drivers of performance in an organization.
- Identify organizational goals not currently being measured in a given company.
- Link Sustainability to an organization’s strategy.
- Develop Balanced Scorecard and Triple Bottom Line measures that relate to the organization’s objectives.
- Assess issues, including sustainability, not captured in traditional financial measures.
- Support decision making using financial and nonfinancial measures.
- Identify methods to set targets for organizational performance.
- Conduct a gap analysis around organizational objectives.
- Develop recommendations to close the gap and achieve target objectives by applying performance measures.
