Course Overview
This is an advanced course in Business Information Systems that builds on the material delivered in BSYS 3205 and serves as an introduction to Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This is a hands-on project-based course that introduces Big Data analytic concepts such as ML, AI, and NoSQL databases in an open source or cloud platform environment. The focus is to use the latest solutions in Deep Learning (DL) to gain better insights and predictions. This course will utilize the student’s background in databases and the Python programming language.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Build and query schema-less data models using MongoDB.
- Explore the Python environment for machine learning development.
- Practice with top big data solutions from Google and Microsoft.
- Examine image/object recognition algorithms and their applications in the field of artificial intelligence.
- Use cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure to design machine learning experiments.
