Course Overview
This course introduces the user to the general structure and layout of the BC Fire Code. The course provides a general overview of the process for adopting the Code; a scan of the Preface content; a brief introduction to Division A, Parts 1, 2, 3; Division C, Parts 1, 2; and Division B Parts 1, 2, 6 and 7. Students are expected to bring a copy of the current BC Fire Code to the first class.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Locate various Divisions, Parts and Sections of the BC Fire Code.
- Locate the defined terms of the words in italics in Division B.
- Identify the methods of compliance with the Code.
- Identify the three broad objectives the Code.
- Locate the Functional Statements.
- Identify who is responsible for carrying out the provisions of this Code.
- Reference the general provisions of Part 1 of Division B, such as defined terms, referenced documents, and abbreviations of proper names.
- Locate and identify the various Sections of Part 2, 6, and 7 of Division B.
