Course Overview
This is a non-credit course available only for the School Of Business's incoming International Exchange Program students to help transition them into life as a BCIT student and living in Canada. Participants in this course will develop a good understanding of the history, layout and operations of BCIT and the School of Business, as well as knowledge of the services and associated key people available to them as BCIT exchange program students. The course will include an introduction to the history, culture, and governing of BC through guided visits to key museums and local attractions. A review of cultural norms, BC's health care system, and living in residence will also be included.
Prerequisite(s)
- Students must be attending BCIT as a School of Business International Exchange Program students or have gotten approval from the International Exchange Program Coordinator to register in this course.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Discuss the political, geographical, and cultural history of BC and Vancouver.
- Discuss the history of BCIT and it's relationship to the post secondary educational system.
- Identify and demonstrate local customs and norms for Vancouver and BC.
- Identify key people / organizations at BCIT and the services they provide.
- Locate important locations and services on the BCIT Burnaby campus.
- Locate and access non-BCIT key services during their stay at BCIT.
