Course Overview
This course introduces the student to methods of constructing basic gable, hip and intersecting roofs. The theory, calculations and layout will be described for the following rafters, common, hip, hip jack, supporting valley, supported valley, valley jack, and cripple jack rafters. The student will be laying out and cutting different rafters for the roofing projects, and sheath the roofs ready for shingles.
Prerequisite(s)
- Practical experience in framing and working with electric circular saws and radial arm saws.
