Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Change oil, replace fuel filters, change gearbox oil, and replace spark plugs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot common outboard engine problems.
- Perform routine cleaning and greasing of the engine and its components.
- Inspect and potentially replace water pump impellers and lower the engine leg.
- Inspect and replace fuel filters and clean the fuel system.
- Inspect and clean the cooling system, including the water pump and impeller.
- Check battery connections, clean terminals, and ensure proper electrical connections.
- Describe the importance of fresh water flushing and how to perform it effectively.
- Troubleshoot common faults and describe rapid ways to identify them
