Course Overview
A course designed to prepare you for practicing safe and acceptable work habits within the automotive shop using typical automotive shop tools and equipment. Lectures are followed by hands-on shop assignments, giving you opportunity to practice the skills discussed in the class. All practical and graded assignments reflect the types of skills needed in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
- Describe and practice safe and acceptable work habits.
- Describe, use and maintain a variety of basic automotive related hand tools.
- Describe and use a variety of automotive related power tools.
- Describe, use and maintain cutting tools.
- Select and use the correct imperial or metric measuring instrument as required for the particular job.
- Describe and use fasteners and threading tools.
- Describe and use pipe, tubing and hose.
- Describe, use and maintain shop equipment.
- Describe and use oxy-acetylene heating torch.
