Course Overview
Updates technicians with a practical approach to the operation and basic diagnosis procedures for 1996 and newer vehicles equipped with OBD II. Covers: fuel injection and ignition system components, computer operation and basic diagnosis of engine management systems. Provides an opportunity for basic practical experience in scan tool interfacing, data retrieval and interpretation.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe fuel injection and ignition system requirements.
- Describe input sensors and computer operation.
- Describe output actuators.
- Describe open and closed loop modes.
- Perform basic sensor testing procedures.
- Perform scan tool analysis to read fault codes and data stream information.
