ASP.NET for Web Apps COMP 3973

Computer Systems Part-time Studies Course

Course details

This hands-on course follows on from building software applications with C#.NET (COMP 2614 or COMP 3602) and web development with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery (COMP 2015 or COMP 2132). COMP 3973 students are introduced to ASP.NET Model View Controller (MVC) framework to build scalable and secure web applications. Labs and exercises reinforce patterns and how to script dynamic MVC websites to industry standards, in an alternate approach to ASP.NET Forms. Participants use both C# and Razor with MVC to develop powerful data driven web applications with AJAX for full control over mark-up. There is a focus on the latest tools and best practices used in ASP.NET. COMP 3973 is a required course in the “Advanced .NET Development", and “Web and Mobile Application Development" Associate Certificates. It is an elective in the CST/PTS Diploma and offered once per year in September. By the end of this course successful participants will be able to design, create and deploy industry standard web applications.
