Course Overview
This course sets the foundation for further studies in refrigeration system operation. A complete understanding of the topics introduced in this course is essential to further development. It will explore all components as they relate to refrigeration systems, as well as in-depth study of refrigerants and proper piping design.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Describe temperature pressure relationships.
- Explain refrigeration cycle operation.
- Explain operation/function of compressors.
- Explain function and operation of refrigeration condensers/receivers.
- Explain function and operation of refrigeration evaporators.
- Explain function and operation of refrigerant metering devices.
- Identify refrigeration cycle accessories.
- Explain proper piping practices.
- Identify types and application of refrigerants and oils.
- Be prepared to take Environment Canada's CFC/HCFC/HFC Certification Course.
