Course Overview
This course establishes the foundation for further studies in electricity for the HVAC trade. You must have a detailed understanding of electrical fundamentals in order to complete more complex electrical studies in other program courses. The course deals with the principles of magnetism and how it is used to create motion as applied to single and three phase A.C motors. The selection and application of circuit and motor protection devices is another important feature of the course. The course includes a complete understanding of the applicable sections of the Canadian Electrical Code. Finally, a detailed interpretation of electrical diagrams and the development of control circuits will be undertaken.
