Course Overview
This course primarily focuses on the diagnostic quality and analysis of radiographic images and builds on the theory introduced in MRAD 1410 and MRAD 1219. It provides the student the opportunity to integrate theoretical knowledge and clinical practice. Emphasis is placed on applying critical thinking skills to determine if images meet optimal diagnostic parameters and in doing so the student is required to identify positioning errors and the necessary corrections. Through self‐study and assessment, the student will improve the analytical skills required for their image analysis in the clinical setting. Students will be required to submit written radiographic critiques.

- Given a case, describe patient positioning for diagnostic acceptability of images of the following:
- Appendicular skeletons
- Chest
- Abdomen
- Evaluate radiographic images for technical factors applied based on best practice, clinical information, equipment and other contextual factors.
- Given a case, describe how radiographic principles affect image quality.
- Discern accuracy of radiographic markers and annotations on an image.
- Evaluate images for artifacts and respond.
- Given a case, evaluate images for normal results and variants.
