Course Overview
This course will cover critical steps to successfully plan for crisis situations as well as, perform leadership skills before, during and after a crisis situation. Topics will include: incidents and accidents at crisis level, roles of non-government and government agencies, management and leadership skills in a crisis, emergency response exercise planning and debriefing and post-incident care giving skills. Evaluation includes ERP group project, a group report and mini- presentation and a group presentation.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Apply the tools and techniques for planning and managing an emergency response (crisis level) at an airport in an emergency response plan (ERP).
- Identify crisis leadership skills in an emergency situation.
- Observe and describe at least five critical leadership and teamwork qualities for emergency managers.
- Apply stress management principles to the analysis of a crisis situation.
- Apply communication, problem solving and decision-making skills to the analysis of a crisis situation.
- Describe the role of critical incident care practices in a post incident situation.
- Develop the actions and response for crisis related emergencies in an aviation operations environment.
