Course Overview
This course will examine the need for airports to maximize non-aeronautical sources of revenue, while meeting the needs of the airport customers. Students will review and explore strategies and processes to optimize financial and commercial performance of airports, and will gain an understanding of the contribution commercialization makes to an airport's operation. Evaluation includes a report and examination.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the commercialization of airports/airlines around the world.
- Investigate trends in commercial development at airport and airlines.
- Evaluate non-aeronautical income streams available to an airport and airlines.
- Identify unique opportunities and challenges for commercial development at airports and airlines.
- Recommend retail strategies to appeal to passengers as consumers within the aviation sector.
