Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Explain the procedure used to test, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, remove and replace airframe and related systems in small and large aircraft.
- Explain aircraft system operation to the component level.
- Explain function of thermal switches, thermocouples, continuous loop fire detection and pressure type fire detection system.
- Describe operation, routing, installation and inspection of sensors.
- Discuss fire suppression systems.
- Perform fire protection and detection system installation and operational tests.
- Inspect, test and maintain fire protection and detection systems.
- Explain ice detection and anti-icing systems operation and maintenance.
- Locate and identify ice control system components.
- Operate, troubleshoot, clean and carry out maintenance of ice control system.
- Explain rain control systems.
- Explain the operation, maintenance and servicing of pneumatic systems.
- Explain the fundamentals of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
- Identify components, inspect, test and maintain heating systems.
- Explain electrical/ electronic equipment cooling systems.
- Describe air conditioning servicing procedures.
- Describe maintenance, operation and control of pressurization system components.
- Perform the inspection and servicing of environmental control system.
- Explain aircraft fuel types, properties and additives.
- Explain airframe fuel system configurations and component functions.
- Describe fuel system operation.
- Describe multi-engine and helicopter fuel systems.
- Perform a function check on a fuel quantity indicating system.
- Explain standard practices and operational checks, inspection and certification of aircraft systems.
