Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Apply the Canadian Aviation Regulations applicable to an AME.
- Explain the numbering system and format of CARs.
- Explain and identify the maintenance related parts and subparts of CARs.
- Discuss the function and purpose of the CARAC.
- Discuss the requirements for an AME license.
- Explain the meaning of 'Custody and Control.'
- List what documents make up a Type Certificate.
- Discuss the recording and certification of maintenance.
- Describe function and purpose of an airworthiness directive.
- Discuss aircraft operation with unserviceable or removed equipment M.M.E.L.
- Discuss the tasks that are considered Elementary Work.
- Review the requirement for technical records.
- Explain the purpose of flight controls.
- Perform alignment checks.
- Describe internal and external control and gust locks, importance of flagging.
- Describe adjustment procedures for push pull control rods.
- Explain inspection procedures for controls.
- Explain cables, fittings.
- Describe cable adjustment procedures.
- Perform a cable repair .
- Install/ rig flight control systems.
- Install/ rig throttle/ propeller systems.
- Describe hydraulic powered flying controls.
- Describe mechanical and servo-powered flight control systems and components.
- Inspect control systems.
- Perform independent check of control systems.
