Course Overview
This course introduces global supply chain management concepts & evolutions over times; clarifies the key relationships of SCM with other functions in business. Course develops an understanding of relationship management within the global supply chain sectors. Topics are delivered based on international influences, value creation, aligning incentives, creating partnerships, sharing resources and finding mutual benefits within the supply chain. An emphasis will be based on building flexible and strategic partnerships and managing changes and shifts in strategies and tactics aimed at driving supply chain profitability and competitive advantage This course develops an understanding of how design process, lean thinking, flow throughput, and metrics can be applied to a company’s strategic, tactical, and operational decisions related to global supply chain management. This course introduces the latest best practices in global supply chain management & why important to applied businesses; This course develops sustainable business practices through the accurate measurement, analysis and application of metrics and data to business decisions. Students will do team based case studies & one project relating to Supply Chain Management and formal presentations are required.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Use the tools and techniques applicable to a firm’s design and goals
- Explain the impact of cultural and international standards on a firm’s strategy
- Demonstrate the use and benefit of strategically aligning the global supply chain to best fit a firm’s objectives
- Develop skills for effective negotiation and business relationship management
- Design and recommend a plan for improvement of a company’s efficiency and effectiveness along an international supply chain
- Analyze customer service levels of satisfaction and perceptions to meet both vendor and customer expectations.
- Apply enhanced value-chain planning through information sharing, IT infrastructure, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Provide recommendations based on metric results
- Demonstrate supply chain management through partner certification and approval
- Explain the importance of relationship sustainability, integration and collaboration techniques
- Apply best practices to enhance supply chain & other business function to deliver better efficiency & results
