Course Overview
In this badged course, learners will expand their urological perioperative nursing education, advancing beyond novice practice, focusing on immediate practical knowledge application. Within this badged course, learners will have the opportunity to explain in depth the perioperative nursing role for urology procedures and develop a plan of care for persons undergoing these procedures in both the scrub and circulating roles. Clarification of scope of practice for LPNs and RNs in urology procedures will be outlined as well as adherence to hospital policies when on-site. To prepare for the clinical environment and knowledge uptake, low-stakes assessments, including quizzes and small written case study assignments will be completed.
