Course Overview
Canadian Radiographic Imaging Procedures and Analysis is a robust integration of radiographic procedures, analysis and pathologies commonly identified in routine Canadian diagnostic radiography. The course will guide learners through the routine procedures, related image criteria and analysis along with relevant pathologies of each region of the body including upper extremities, lower extremities, spine, thorax, abdomen and pelvis, and cranium. Supplemented with video lessons, virtual reality desktop software, synchronous online tutorials and a variety of learning activities, students will leverage prior learning experiences to develop structured understanding of radiography procedures in Canada, the 10-point image critique process and pathology identification and classification in relation to the Canadian Association of Medical Radiologic Technologists (CAMRT) competency profile. Emphasis is placed on applying critical thinking skills to identify positioning errors and the necessary corrections. Students will learn how to assess, verify and improve the diagnostic quality of images of routine exams as it relates to clinical practice .
