Course Overview
Continuation of BLDG 1200. This course covers interior and exterior construction detailing. It is an introduction to post and beam construction. Lectures include a brief examination of reinforced concrete structures used in low-rise construction. Lab assignments include partial preparation of working drawings for roof framing and foundations using plans, sections and construction details.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Use a systematic approach to solving building construction problems.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of fundamental principles, materials, and methods used in Canadian residential wood-frame construction.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the intent and scope of the BC Building Code, Part 9.
- Develop section views and details using knowledge related to materials, BC Building Codes, and construction assemblies.
- Identify general framing/construction conditions that fall under the BC Building Code, Part 4.
- Use current CAD software as a tool for drawing production in completion of projects.
- Develop how to resolve roof geometry in plan, section and elevation view for a variety of roof styles and slopes
- Perform a site grading analysis/solution for existing and finished grades
- Prepare a partial set of architectural working drawings for a small residential project.
