This course builds up on Ship Cargo 1 and covers the safe stowage, securing, carriage, and discharge of specialized categories such as deck, liquid bulk, hazardous, and refrigerated cargoes.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Use International and Canadian regulations for safe stowage, securing, and carriage of deck cargoes.
- Use Code of Safe Practice for Cargo Stowage and Securing of under deck and deck cargoes.
- Outline the design and operation of oil tanker piping and pumping arrangements.
- Perform oil cargo calculation for weight: ullages, volume, and densities.
- Use International and Canadian regulations for safe stowage, securing, and carriage of dangerous, hazardous, and harmful cargoes.
- Outline preparation, safe stowage, carriage, and discharge of refrigerated cargoes.
- Describe the principles of a hatch cover, the construction of hatch covers, and the critical areas of hatch covers.
- Describe the purpose of ballast tanks, their construction, and the critical components of ballast tanks.
- Outline the design and operation of ships carrying dangerous liquid chemicals.
- Outline the design and operation of ships carrying liquefied gases in bulk.
