Course Overview
Covers the basic concepts of induced current, characteristics of induced eddy currents, factors affecting conductivity, impedance, permeability & hysteresis, coil characteristics, signal to noise ratio, readout mechanics, phase analysis and methods and relationships of indications to discontinuities and advantages and limitations of the method. This course meets the requirements of CGSB Standard 48.9712-06 (Table 1). Course requires that students can use a calculator, manipulate formulae, apply basic trigonometry (sine, cosine, tan, arcsine, arccosine, arc tan) and use exponential functions.
