Course Overview
Introduces skills and concepts of 3D computer modeling, rendering, and animation. These techniques can be applied to model visualization, product design, architecture, and engineering. Topics include 2D/3D modeling, surface mapping, materials, lighting, animation, and CAD file linking.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Efficiently use 3D Studio Viz tools at an intermediate user level.
- Access the on-line help system and user documentation.
- Create basic and advanced geometric primitives in Viz.
- Use modifiers to change the shape of a primitive.
- Create AEC objects using the Viz Wall, Window and Door tools.
- Insert AutoCAD geometry into your Viz scene.
- Modify your AutoCAD geometry using Viz modifiers.
- Create and apply basic materials.
- Be familiar with how Viz uses maps and materials.
- Combine maps together to create complex materials.
- Apply appropriate lighting to illuminate your Viz scenes.
- Use basic Animation Techniques to Create a Walkthrough Animation.
