Course Overview
This course provides students with a fundamental understanding of both residential wood frame construction and commercial steel stud construction. Students will produce a 3D model for each stage of construction and conduct site research to identify each building stage.
Prerequisite(s)
- 65% or better in Level 3 Full-time INTD courses and COMM 2320.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify the building structure and how it impacts the interior space.
- Draw framing plans.
- Explain the differences between various types of interior wall partitions and the use of each.
- Incorporate principles of residential wood frame construction in interior design projects.
- Build a model demonstrating wood frame construction.
