Course Overview
This course is for students who will be responsible for installing, configuring, managing, and supporting a network infrastructure that uses Microsoft Windows 2003 Server. This course includes topics such as: installing and configuring DNS, DHCP, virtual private networks and remote access, TCP/IP, WINS, IP Routing, Gateway services, RIS security and network protocol security.

Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:

- Describe the architecture of IPSec.

- Explain how name resolution works in DNS.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot DNS on a Windows 2000 computer.
- Plan a DNS implementation.
- Explain how DHCP works on a Windows 2000 computer.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot DHCP on a Windows 2000 computer.
- Integrate DHCP and DNS on a Windows 2000 computer.
- Explain the purpose of Windows 2000's remote access service.
- Install, configure, monitor and manage a Routing and Remote Access Server.
- Implement IP routing on a Remote Access Server.
- Configure DHCP to work with Routing and Remote Access Server.
- Explain how a VPN works.
- Implement a VPN.
- Describe the purpose of Network Address Translation.
- Install and configure Network Address Translation.
- Install, configure, and manage Certificate Authority.
- Plan and implement network security on Windows 2000 computers.
