Course Overview
This practical experience opportunity focuses on the application and integration of forensic science concepts and principles in a forensic science laboratory situation. Students will enhance their skills in critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, communication and interpersonal relations. Records of the work project and final reports will be submitted to the program coordinator for assessment. Students are expected to work the hours specified by the sponsor to which they are assigned. The total work hours may be applied toward the fulfillment of the work experience requirement (not the academic requirement) for B.Tech. graduation.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Complete a literature research for an assigned project.
- Carry out investigative activities to collect, assess, examine, and analyze forensic exhibits.
- Utilize appropriate reporting methods to recommend further investigation.
- Work within the culture of the sponsor organization:
- Communicate effectively with clients and members of the organization.
- Employ appropriate interpersonal skills with clients and members of the organization.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate their actions, decisions and interactions with clients and members of the organization.
- Write final report evaluating the work experience project.
