Course Overview
This is an introductory course to critically review the socio-cultural environment in which business operates. Every day, we make ethical decisions in our personal lives that affect our lives; working in the industry, we make ethical decisions that affect the business-society and business-environment relationships. Much of the time, we are unaware of our choices' consequences and unconsciously make them. But our choices matter. The course begins by looking at business ethics and why it is everyone’s business. This course takes an introductory, pluralistic approach to ethics and combines it with practical case studies. Students will be reflecting on their moral development as they encounter different topics related to social and environmental sustainability. This course equips business professionals with key capabilities for managing and leading organizations with an ethical and a sustainability mindset.
