Course Overview
This course builds upon the theoretical aspects covered in FSCT 7840 (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Core Education - Theoretical Aspects) and is designed to give the non medical/nursing student an opportunity to gain practical forensic knowledge needed for forensic health assessments, forensic evidence collection, chain-of-custody, documentation and evaluation for victims of sexual assault (adult and adolescent). The student will be placed in a supervised practicum to demonstrate aspects of the care of victims of sexual assault. This may include police agency, after care centres for female or male victims, community agencies, youth centres or court system with completion of a detailed description of the setting and its relation to the victims of sexual assault.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Evaluate the interaction of the community agency, health care facility, law enforcement agency or other visited agency with the forensic health care of the sexually assaulted patient.
- Evaluate the interactions of health care professionals and other multidisciplinary professional on the care of the sexually assaulted patient.
