Distance & Online Learners

Regardless of where learners are located, we make every effort to provide equivalent services and resources to distance and online learners whenever possible.

Eligibility for Distance Services

Services will be offered to students who are registered as Distance Education students at BCIT.

Getting Started

Use the First Search box on the Library home page to start your research.

First Search will give you access to articles and e-books online, databases, books and much more. In order to view books and articles online, you must login with your BCIT ID and myBCIT or network password.

If you need a book or article text that is not available online, follow the instructions for requesting material.

Online Databases

You can also search online resources directly. The Online Databases section of our website lists the individual e-resources subscribed by the library.

These resources include article databases such as Business Source Complete, CINAHL and Vocational Studies.

There are also collections of e-books such as Books 24x7, EnviroNetBase and Knovel.

Other resources such as CSA and ASTM standards, Passport and PrivCo and LexisNexis Quicklaw can also be found here.
