BCIT’s Occupational Health and Safety Program is the first IOSH Accredited Institution in North America!

IOSH is a leading voice on the issues affecting the safety, health and wellbeing of people at work across all sectors and around the world. Through research and consultation with our members, we develop policy positions that inform our influencing activity and help governments and other bodies on policy issues.

BCIT OH&S programs were designed for individuals who:

  • Have a passion for safety and creating safe work environments for others
  • Enjoy working directly with people at all levels and positions
  • Thrive in a dynamic and demanding work environment
  • Have three to five years or more of work experience. This experience does not need to be in safety.

Graduates of BCIT Occupational Health & Safety programs are sought out by many employers for their reliable BCIT education.

BCIT offers both a full-time two year Diploma program in OHS and a Flexible Learning distance/online option at the Associate Certificate and Certificate level. You should choose the option that works for you.

You have many options and choices when it comes to your Occupational Health & Safety career path. Your path will depend on your previous education, work history, future goals (job title/position, industry, location etc.), as well as your current situation (financial and family).
