Course details

This course introduces the enthusiast to equipment, materials and techniques used to refinish a vehicle. The student will learn the application of conventional style paints as well as the application of waterborne products in a state of the art spray booth.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:

  • Describe safety procedures / personal protective equipment (PPE) used to paint.
  • Describe types of paints, including waterborne products, used in vehicle manufacturing past and present.
  • Describe materials and equipment used to refinish a vehicle.
  • Describe various refinishing techniques.
  • Refinish selected panels, using single stage and base coat / clear coat finishes.
