Course Overview
This course will provide an overall understanding of the role of ship and port agents/agencies in the global logistics supply chain. During the course, the students will study the duties and responsibilities of the ship and port agents. The step-by-step process of vessel arrival and departure, and the role of the agent in relation to contractual obligations, will be analyzed in detail.

- Describe the role of the ship and port agents.
- Identify the agent's duties and obligations under the contractual agreements.
- Discuss the agent's responsibilities while handling the ship, cargo, and port documentation.
- Identify the legal aspects of the Ship Agency, Port Agency, and Insurance.
- Understand detailed procedures for the vessel arrival/departure process, and the role of the agent.
- List relevant elements of shipping and maritime law related to the ship and port agency.
