Course Overview
Canada is renowned for excellence in children's and youth television. Under the direction of an industry veteran, students will work in teams to develop a children's or youth series from concept to script. The objective is for each student to complete a half hour script.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Understand the process and nature of the children and youth television industry in Canada.
- Grasp the fundamentals of story structure, character development and dialogue.
- Develop a story concept through standard industry stages of: pitch, beat sheet, outline, first and second draft scripts.
- Analyze and give notes at each of these stages on their own work and the work of fellow students.
- Work to deadline.
- Work in a collaborative environment that typifies industry story departments.
