Course Overview
A business analyst, as part of a team, works to translate stakeholder requirements into solutions that provide value to the organization. This course covers the structuring of requirements, assessing potential design alternatives and ensuring that the implemented solution provides intended benefit to the organization. This course will also expose you to approaches for modelling and confirming the utility of both requirements and designs. You will learn these topics through lectures, exercises and discussions, case studies and/or scenario-based problem solving, both individually and working in teams.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Use appropriate techniques to specify and model requirements
- Apply methods and tools to verify and validate requirements
- Create a requirements architecture that defines requirement relationships and connects them to an organizational need
- Define design options including solution description and approach to development
- Evaluate design options to determine the highest value solution
- Describe the steps required to evaluate a solution
- Evaluate the value of an implemented solution, including the following steps:
- Determining what, when and how to measure solution performance
- Analyzing solution performance
- Assessing solution risks and limitations
- Assessing organizational limitations
- Analyze proposed actions that could increase solution value
