Project management is a critical skill for achieving organizational goals and implementing change effectively. This course provides an overview of project management principles and introduces practical tools and techniques that can be applied to projects of any size. Participants will learn how to structure work, manage constraints, and apply proven methodologies to deliver successful outcomes. Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Define fundamental project management concepts, including what constitutes a project, how it differs from operations, and the role of a project manager.
- Explain the relationships among project scope, schedule, and budget (the triple constraints) and how they influence project success.
- Develop a project charter that articulates the problem or opportunity, scope, deliverables, success measures, and the project team members.
- Design an introductory project plan using concepts such as a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and SMART goals to ensure alignment with organizational objectives, project outcomes and goals, and successful execution.
