Course Overview
Students construct a series of projects in this course using solid wood, veneered plywood, medium density fiberboard (MDF), melamine overlay, plastic laminate and a variety of hardware. Joinery methods include dovetails, dados, rebates, biscuit joints and splines. The initial focus is on hand tool work and then progresses onto portable power tools and stationary woodworking equipment.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Work safely using hand tools, portable power tools and stationary woodworking equipment.
- Read shop drawings, cutting bills and cutting plans.
- Construct woodworking projects that meet industry standards.
