Course Overview
In this course, students will learn about communications in a connected world. Students will identify network devices and connections then install a simulation tool to allow further exploration of networks. After building a simple network, students will examine network protocols and will delve into the concepts behind network design.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the concept of a network.
- Describe network data.
- Describe the different types of network media.
- Use a network simulator to build a simple network.
- Verify connectivity in a simple network.
- Compare common network communication models.
- Explain the three-layer network design model.
