Course Overview
A Getting-Started approach to music recording that looks at sound theory, microphones (design, selection and placement), digital recording systems, recording console, signal processors (equalizers, limiters and compressors), the multi-track recording process and procedures. Lecture and practical demo/hands-on experience most nights of the 12-week course (the exception being a facility tour night).

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Have familiarity with the multi-track recording process and procedures.
- Have familiarity with the Institute's audio recording systems.
- Gain knowledge of microphone design, selection and placement.
- Know the signal routing of the Institute's audio facility.
- Gain knowledge of sound theory and the challenges of recording music.
