Course Overview
Students will identify cranium, neck, spine and upper extremity anatomy using MRI images in multiple anatomical planes and different images weightings. Anatomical landmarking will also be included. These topics will build the foundation to other MRI-specific courses.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

- Introduction to MR image quality
- Image weightings
- Comparison of MR images with other imaging modalities
- Differentiate structures of the Brain and Skull on Magnetic Resonance (MR) images. The following concepts, skills, and issues are used to support this Outcome:
- Anatomical structures of the orbits
- Anatomical structures of the ventricular system
- Anatomical structures of the cerebrum
- Anatomical structures of the cerebellum & brainstem
- Anatomical structures of the cerebral vascular system
- Anatomical structures of the skeletal and muscular features of the skull
- Differentiate structures of the Spine on Magnetic Resonance (MR) images. The following concepts, skills, and issues are used to support this Outcome:
- Musculoskeletal structures of the spine
- Nervous structures of the spine

- Differentiate the structures of the Elbow on Magnetic Resonance (MR) images. The following concepts, skills, and issues are used to support this Outcome:

- Differentiate the structures of the Hand and Wrist on Magnetic Resonance (MR) images. The following concepts, skills, and issues are used to support this Outcome:
