This course focuses on the development of basic shop skills as a metal fabricator and the practical application of skills in the pursuit of artistic endeavors and other functional steel items.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Work safely in a basic shop environment using all PPE and identifying hazards of working a shop.
- Interpret basic shop drawings and visualize how these may be assembled.
- Transfer information from drawings onto physical materials using metric & imperial measurements.
- Operate a variety of metal fabrication hand tools (Grinder, etc.).
- Operate a variety of metal fabrication shop equipment (GMAW Welding, Hand Plasma, Plate Shear, Ironworker, Plate Rolls etc.)
- Form, fit, assemble, and finish steel components into final products.
