Upgrades and refreshes the mathematical skills of students who intend to enter the School of Business at BCIT. A suitable prerequisite for the mathematics courses in the School of Business as it meets the Math 11 entrance requirement. The course includes arithmetic, elementary algebra, graphical techniques, ratios, percentages and the elementary business applications of these concepts.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and convert between numbers, decimals, fractions, and percents.
- Multiple and divide numbers and terms with exponents.
- Follow the order of operations.
- Solve number, rate, comparison, money, inequality, ratio and proportion, mixture, break-even and quadratic formula problems using one and/or two variables.
- Graph lines, linear inequalities, and non-linear equations.
- Factor trinomials.
- Solve polynomial equations.
- Solve equations with one variable.
- Solve pairs of equations with two variables by the substitution, elimination and graphing methods.
- Solve quadratic equations using the quadratic form of the equation and the quadratic formula.
